Our congregation treasures its community life as a gift of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church. Community is a mystery which embraces, yet surpasses, the efforts of its individual members. We are made one in savoring the Word of God and in breaking the bread of the Eucharist. When the Spirit is present, the signs are obvious: "Love, joy, peace, patience, endurance, kindness, generosity, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control."

Our communion with the Lord and with one another is not only a source of life and strength for our apostolic ministry, but also is itself a way we preach and bear the Gospel to the world. We continually strive to live the fullness of our Dominican apostolic life as it calls us to harmonious integration of prayer, study, community and apostolic ministry.

Constitution 25, 26

It is in Community that we share our prayers, meals, housing and material goods. This common life is a source of joy and support for one another. We express our loving care and concern for each other and help to build a community which reflects God’s love in action.

We celebrate with joy and support with compassion, we speak earnestly and keep silence, we laugh and we cry, we work and we play; for everything there is a season when living in our communities.
