The Dominican Sisters of Bridgeport, CT, have as their primary focus, education. This focus is realized through teaching and school service ministry on both the elementary and high school levels. Apart from the formal setting of school, some of the Sisters have broadened their perspective on education and are assisting their local parishes in a variety of ways.

St. Augustine Grade School (pre-K-8) is located in Ossining, NY, situated on the majestic Hudson River.  It is in the Archdiocese of New York. Their web site has a wonderful spread on the school, parish and the activities they provide.  St. Vincent Ferrer High School is located in the heart of Manhattan at 65th Street and Lexington Avenue. Their web site offers an overall glimpse into their superb academic curriculum as well as their many activities throughout the year. St. Vincent Ferrer is one of the top Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of New York. In a related field, one of our Sisters is involved with music education and concerts on both elementary and high school levels in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, PA.  Another Sister is working with foreign seminarians to improve their proficiency in both oral and written English.  She also instructs them in the mechanics of homiletics.

Some of our Sisters work in parish ministry visiting the sick who are homebound. They are ministers of the Eucharist and celebrate this graceful ministry with patience, joy, and a sense of great satisfaction meeting their friends face to face each day.

In a related field of education, one of our Sisters practices canon law and assists various religious communities needing clarification on certain topics within their congregation.

Our retired Sisters are volunteers in their various parishes in a variety of interests and addressing specific parish needs. In the same vein, our infirmed Sisters are praying for us, the Church and all those in need of prayers both locally and globally.
