"The vow of Poverty, like the vows of chastity and obedience, gives one the opportunity to grow as a woman of freedom.  One recognizes and acknowledges the generosity of God in her life and is thus challenged to act as a generous person and to guard against being stingy.  She is grateful to God for her personal gifts and talents and is willing to share these gifts with and for others.  She is open to have her own plans interrupted to be of service to another.  In many instances this particular vow encourages one to let go of self and self interests.  The vow of poverty helps one not to be afraid but to believe and trust in God's Providence."
